A man and a woman from Enola are being charged in the death of their ten-year-old daughter, who police say died in their care due medical neglect back in August of 2021.
Court documents reveal the girl died while sleeping on a mattress in the living room of the house on 4th Street on August 15, 2021, and that she was found very thin and possibly starved. But, ultimately, it was the lack of healthcare that lead to her death, according to court documents and medical opinion.
Moore told police the girl was taken to Harrisburg Hospital within the past year, but medical records indicate she had never been to that hospital. However, medical records do say she was seen at the West Shore Hospital in 2014. The autopsy by the coroner revealed the child's cause of death was was complications of pulmonary emboli due to stenosis from idiopathic megacolon. The manner of death was ruled a homicide.
