All games in the four professional tiers of English soccer have been called off until April 3 due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

On Friday morning, the Football Association announced games in the Premier League and EFL—which governs the second, third and fourth tier of professional soccer in England—will be suspended until April 3.Games in the FA Cup and the women's super league will also be suspended.

"In this unprecedented situation we are working closely with our clubs, Government, the FA and EFL and can reassure everyone the health and welfare of players, staff and supporters are our priority. On Thursday night, the Premier League and the EFL had insisted games would go ahead as scheduled this weekend, but called an emergency meeting for Friday after it emerged Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta had tested positive to coronavirus.
