The expansion of energy-rating scorecards to all existing homes means that homeowners will now have access to cheaper loans for climate-friendly renovations.
Under the National House Energy Rating Scheme, existing homes will be assessed for energy efficiency.
This assessment will enable banks to finance “green” loans for Australians looking to invest in clean energy projects such as the installation of solar panels, which can help reduce household power costs.
