Jeremy Hunt is set to extend Government support for energy bills until the end of June to help households continuing to struggle with the cost of living crisis
Without the energy price guarantee, a typical household bill would be £4,279 a year under the current price cap set by Ofgem. Due to, that cap is expected to fall to £3,280 a year from April, Ofgem said on Thursday.
The Government’s £400 handout to all households, which was in addition to the energy price guarantee, will come to an end in April.
