While promoting the Disenchanted sequel, Enchanted star Amy Adams recalls a hilarious real-life Giselle moment that happened early on in her career.

Enchanted star Amy Adams might be the perfect real-life Disney princess, according to a hilarious situation the Disenchanted actress recounted from her early days in LA. Amy Adams gave life to the good-natured Disney princess Giselle in Enchanted in 2007. The live-action movie was a parody of Disney's popular animated fare and a great blend of traditional animation, CGI, and live-action.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Amy Adams recalled a hilarious story of a real-life Giselle moment early in her career on The Late Late Show with James Corden. According to Adams, she'd recently left her home in Minnesota, where people are very friendly, to move to LA. There, she expected to encounter other nice people but was negatively surprised, much like Giselle in the Disney princess satire Enchanted, when the character left the kingdom of Andalasia and moved to real-life New York.

It was really different, I come from a really really friendly familial dinner theater named Chanhassen, which I absolutely love, and I moved to LA thinking everybody would be that friendly, much like Giselle, and they were not. I was surprised, like really surprised and sad. I think the moment I really realized I had to toughen up was when I'd gone to 7-Eleven to get a Slurpee, I walked across the street and got a banana Slurpee, 'cause it was hot you know.

Audiences worldwide fell in love with Adams' portrayal of Giselle in Enchanted, and it was warranted. Amy Adams gave a charismatic performance, singing included, that sometimes lacks in Disney's most recent live-action reboots of the company's fan-favorite animated movies. The character felt like an authentic Disney princess brought to life, which was the movie's goal.

Recreating Amy Adams' performance in Enchanted is hard. Audiences demanded a sequel in that universe right after the movie's release. Disney heard the fans' request and initially poised the sequel for a 2011 release, but several factors barred any significant development for a long time. The happily ever after did come after more than a decade, and fans can now watch the long-awaited sequel, Disenchanted, on Disney+.
