Delta Airlines revealed what three employees were doing when a tire exploded that killed two men and left a third person seriously injured.

Officials with the Clayton County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the Georgians killed in the incident as 58-yer-old Mirko F. Marweg and 37-year-old Luis Aldarondo.Delta's Technical Operations Center, which is near the the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Marweg, Aldarondo, and the third unidentified individual involved were working in service of Delta when the incident happened, according to Delta Airlines.Tragically, two of our team members involved passed away and one other team member was seriously injured. We are extending our full support to their families at this difficult time and conducting an investigation to determine what happened.
The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration opened an investigation as investigators determine what caused the incident."Please know your safety and wellbeing comes first – always, and that your leaders are here for you," it read in part. Flights on Tuesday were not affected. Delta stated that the incident didn't impact customer or maintenance operations on Tuesday.
