ABC's"Countdown to the Emmys" 90-minute preshow will serve as a virtual red carpet ahead of the 72 annual ceremony that features live interviews with nominees alongside looks at past red carpet fashion and previous of this year's"couch couture."ceremony kicks off on Sunday night, some of Hollywood's biggest stars will be swapping their red-carpet walks for virtual drop-ins during ABC's awards night preshow.
Entitled"Countdown to the Emmys," the 90-minute virtual red carpet will begin streaming live at 3:30 p.m. PDT on Sunday, Sept. 20.correspondent Janai Norman, will host the preshow event out of the ABC News headquarters in New York.senior entertainment reporter Kelley Carter will join the trio live from outside of the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where host Jimmy Kimmel will emcee the awards ceremony.
Held directly ahead of the 72nd Emmy Awards, the preshow will include live interviews with the diverse group of 2020 nominees. The event will also feature winner predictions, highlight the unprecedented year in TV production and look back on previous years' red-carpet fashion alongside glimpses of this year's “couch couture.”
