We chat with TheMysteriousBenedictSociety stars Emmy DeOliveira and Seth B. Carr about season 2 of the disneyplus series, the hiatus between filming both seasons, working with Tony Hale, and more:
The work of Trenton Lee Stewart is back on the screen in The Mysterious Benedict Society season 2. The show picks up sometime after the events of the previous season as Mr. Benedict attempts to set up a globe-trotting scavenger hunt for the group, only to be kidnapped alongside Number Two by his brother in a new scheme.
Emmy & Seth on The Mysterious Benedict Society Screen Rant: The Mysterious Benedict Society has been such a wonderful ride since it launched, and from what I've seen so far, season 2 is continuing that ball. What were your first reactions when you saw the scripts for season 2? Emmy DeOliveira: Yeah, I think I probably laughed a lot. The first episode is pretty funny, and I always, I think, look for the jokes. So, I definitely really liked the new scripts. Emmy DeOliveira: It was weird.
Emmy DeOliveira: And we were separated, and then we got back together, and then the characters were separated, and they got back together. So I think just with filming, I think maybe helped. Emmy DeOliveira: Well, we didn't really film with him a lot the first season, so it was pretty familiar. It's a little strange from the audience point of view, because you're seeing both of these stories, but most of it was filmed separately, so we weren't really on set with Tony all that much.
