Emmerdale's Jay Kontzle, known for his role as Billy Fletcher, had a taste of fame on a reality show long before he made his soap debut.
Billy has been involved in several major storylines, from his disastrous wedding to Dawn Taylor to the shocking leukaemia diagnosis of their son Evan. Currently, in the soap, he's keeping a significant secret from Dawn due to their escalating financial problems. His secret is eventually disclosed to Mackenzie Boyd and John Sugden . The latter assisted in treating Billy's injuries after he was hurt during a boxing match.
He appeared on both The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent as part of a boy band. The band, named The Mend, included Jay and three friends, and they auditioned for The X Factor in 2011.
