The beloved character learnt a few weeks ago that Oscar is seriously underwell and in hospital. Ryan’s girfriend, Gail , said that they needed to be tested to see if they’re a match for Oscar’s stem-cell transplant surgery, but the news overwhelmed Ryan and he reacted badly.
‘These things that Ryan is having to go through, it’s emotionally very hard-hitting. These scenes that are going to play out are very emotional and authentic and real. Ryan and Gail get to know Oscar more ‘I think scenes like that are really important because they really add to the humanity of it. How this situation would really have a deeply emotional effect on people.
