Emmerdale's Moira Dingle, played by Natalie J Robb, has become a fan favourite since she joined in 2009, but off screen had a secret pop career and appeared in a rival soap
Emmerdale Moira Dingle, played by Natalie J Robb, has been a firm soap favourite since joining the longstanding ITV show back in 2009. Natalie, 49, has been at the heart of some huge storylines as her character overcomes major hurdles. Moira has brought viewers plenty of mayhem - from a steamy affair and marriage to resident bag boy Cain Dingle, to going into labour in a burning barn.
Next week, Cain confronts his greatest fear of Moira's death and is taken aback when Moira and Matty Barton discuss their travel plans to see her son Adam . With Moira's absence looming, Cain struggles but finds solace in his wife's comfort. Rival soap Natalie J Robb who hails from Glasgow, discovered her love of acting at an early age when she enrolled in weekend drama groups and was later discovered by director Alan Macmillan, who is well known for shows including Taggart, The Bill and Casualty. Off the back of this, Natalie joined the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.
The actress was also well known for being a series regular in the Scottish Television soap opera Take the High Road and in the BBC soap opera Doctors. In 2009, she landed the iconic role of Moira Barton in Emmerdale where she soon became part of the Dingle family when she married Caine. The pair are thought to have known each other for years, but grew closer on a charity trip in 2019, according to The Sun. Then, when the country was sent into its first lockdown in March 2020, the former flames made the decision to move in together.
