Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden, who plays the role of shopkeeper David Metcalfe, met his wife when he joined the soap in 2006, they had a brief split before their surprise wedding.
The couple first met when Matthew joined Emmerdale in 2006 and they started dating just a year later. Charley played the role of Debbie Dingle on the ITV soap and is also the younger sister of Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas. A few years later in 2015 they rekindled their romance and delighted fans as they announced they were back together. Matthew told The Mirror at the time: "It was never a permanent split, we just needed some time apart. Sometimes life just gets on top of you. We had a 'terrible' two-year-old at the time and needed time to look at what we had, but it was the best thing we could have done.
They welcomed their third son, Ace in July 2019 and occasionally take to social media to share family snaps. One of which showed Matthew with his son as they both wore matching cricket shirts, he wrote the caption: "Mini Me".
