El director de “La favorita” Yorgos Lanthimos ha elevado el nivel en la tercera jornada del Festival de Venecia con “Poor things”, una imaginativa fábula gótica de liberación femenina que convierte a Emma Stone en una especie de Frankenstein pero en mujer, bella y sedienta de aventuras, sobre todo sexuales.
Lanthimos leyó la novela en 2011 y desde entonces quiso adaptarla. La implicación de Stone también viene de lejos, ya que le habló del proyecto al finalizar el rodaje de “La favorita” y ya entonces la protagonista de “La la land” se mostró interesada. La trama arranca en Londres, en la casa y taller del cirujano que le devuelve la vida y donde transcurre una primera etapa de descubrimientos, hasta que surge en Bella el deseo de emancipación y se embarca en un viaje junto a un abogado libertino al que da vida Mark Ruffalo, con quien vive una apasionada aventura alrededor del mundo.
Además, en el rodaje contaron con una coordinadora de intimidad. “Al principio esta profesión parecía amenazante para la mayor parte de los cineastas, pero es como todo, si das con un buen profesional, te das cuenta de que realmente lo necesitas”, ha dicho.
