It's safe to say that wearing boots over pants is one of the most divisive trends right now, given the combination runs the risk of instantly transforming the wearer into an ancient clam-digger, or a rumpled equestrian. And yet, Emily Ratajkowski boldly nailed the look while walking her dog in downtown New York this morning.

Ratajkowski seems to be taking cues from the Spring 2020 shows, where the boot-over-pant look has been cropping up regularly. The trend made a cameo at Maryam Nassir Zadeh, where a model wore a pair of cream cargo pants with a pair of knee-skimming black boots. At Marc Jacobs, Bella Hadid strutted out in lavender jeans with pale leather gray boots that went up to the knees. The look was even spotted across the pond today at London Fashion Week, this time on the runway of Richard Malone.
