Emily Maitlis (maitlis) has suggested that “overreach” from the Government under Boris Johnson’s leadership made it harder for BBC journalists to do their jobs
Mr Johnson is the only other Conservative prime minister to have served during the period before Maitlis left the corporation.
“What you don’t expect is when you’re asking those questions to the government of the day in power, is to be told you shouldn’t be asking those questions.”
