The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office says a small plane has crashed into a residential neighborhood in Fairview .The Federal Aviation Administration says the place was a twin-engine Cessna 421C.FAA Statement:
"A twin-engine Cessna 421C crashed near Troutdale Airport in Oregon around 10:30 a.m. local time on Saturday, Aug. 31. We do not yet know how many people were on board. The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board will investigate. The NTSB will be in charge of the investigation and will provide any updates."
Video from the scene shows several homes on fire. Portland Fire, Gresham Fire, Clackamas Fire, Vancouver Fire, Portland Airport Fire, AMR, and the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office have all responded. The Port of Portland issued a statement Saturday morning: "Around 10:20 a.m. today, a small general aviation aircraft crashed near the Troutdale Airport. Port of Portland Fire has sent a crash vehicle and battalion chief for support at the scene, and the Gresham Fire Department is the agency in charge."This is a breaking story and KATU News will update this post when more information becomes available.
