An emergency warning has been issued for a grass fire in the state’s Central West, with residents told it’s too late to leave.
NSW has recorded its hottest daily temperatures in September ever, as more than 80 bushfires burn across the state.
Residents near Brewers Lane, St Fillans Rd, Saints Lane, Lowes Peak Rd and Henry Lawson Drive have been told to seek shelter inside a solid structure such as a house.NSW RFS spokesman Ben Shepherd said Tuesday would be another difficult day with hot, dry and windy conditions expected. Temperatures in the west of the state are expected to hit the low to mid-30s.He said there would be several total fire bans in place, with details to be released later this afternoon.
Both weather phenomena drive hotter and drier temperatures across Australia and will continue throughout the summer.as the temperature soared up to 14 degrees above average. On Tuesday, the city is expected to experience 33 degrees – the warmest October 3 in the past five years.The heat sweeping across Sydney was caused by a “heat bubble” that formed last week in Western Australia.Nationally, Australia received only 4.83mm of rain – the least amount of rain on record and 70.
