A man experiencing a medical issue was rescued from the top of the barn around 9 a.m. Friday, according to first responders.
First responders in Lancaster County were called to a tobacco barn Friday morning for a man having a medical issue while 30 feet off the ground in the barn’s rafters, according to
Crews with the Quarryville Fire Department and Bart Township Fire Company responded to the 1700 block Georgetown Road in Bart Township around 8:52 a.m. for the rescue, the Facebook post said. After locating the man, members of Quarryville Fire Department’s Truck 57 used a ladder truck to cut a hole in the side of the barn at top of the structure, according to pictures provided by the department.
The man was then put in a stretcher and lowered down from the barn, where he was turned over to EMS crews, the Quarryville Fire Department said. The man’s condition is unclear as of Friday afternoon.
