Elton John in 'considerable pain' after hip injury, delays farewell tour
Elton John has postponed the European and US dates of his tour due to a hip injury he sustained after falling.The singer says he will still perform on 25 September as part of the Global Citizen event, after which he will undergo an operation for his injury.tour due to a hip surgery, the singer announced on Thursday.
"At the end of my summer break I fell awkwardly on a hard surface and have been in considerable pain and discomfort in my hip ever since," the 74-year-old star said in a statement. "Despite intensive physio and specialist treatment, the pain has continued to get worse and is leading to increasing difficulties moving," he added.
The 'rocket man's' long-running farewell tour began in 2018 but many of the original 300 dates were delayed due to the pandemic.
