'[The Queen] saw me staring at her, gave me a wink and walked off.'

Saying that the Queen"could be hilarious" in private, John recounted that the monarch had asked her nephew to check in on his sister, who had become ill during the party. But, when he"tried to fob her off", the Queen allegedly"lightly slapped" her nephew across the face while apparently saying:"Don't argue with me, I am the Queen!""That seemed to do the trick," John wrote of the occasion.

Continuing to recount royal stories, John further claimed that he once danced with the Queen and Princess Anne at Prince Andrew's 21st birthday party, which was held at Windsor Castle.According to John, he was scheduled to perform but a disco was held in the ballroom beforehand. However, because the Queen was in attendance and"no one wanted to cause any offence to the royal sensibilities", the music was turned down so it could barely be heard.

"The disco was turned down about as low as you could get without switching it off altogether," John said of the music."You could literally hear your feet moving around on the floor over the music." Alleging that the Queen appeared during"Rock Around The Clock", John continued:"I was trying to dance as inaudibly as possible with Princess Anne and the Queen — still holding her handbag — while what appeared to be the world's quietest disco played Bill Haley."He added:"I tried my best to come up with a facial expression that suggested this was a perfectly normal state of affairs."Ben Henry is a celebrity reporter for BuzzFeed UK and is based in London.
