No rain is forecast during tonight's performance, but expect Elton John to shower his fans with love, and vice versa
The legendary singer-songwriter returns for a sold-out show at Petco Park. It’s the second time his farewell tour has come to San Diego. Will it be the last? And does his future lay online with avatars and Roblox?“I’m not Cher!” John said when he announced his final tour in 2018. It was a sly reference to the fact that Cher retired from performing concerts after her purported farewell tour, only to un-retire and tour some more.
Tonight’s Petco Park performance is the sixth-to-last stadium on the last leg of his last U.S. tour, which concludes Nov. 20 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. If the weather cooperates and the skies stay clear tonight, as forecast, the only water at tonight’s concert will be in bottles. All gates at Petco Park open at 6 p.m. today and early arrival is encouraged. No re-entry will be allowed. The concert will begin promptly at 8 p.m. and there is no opening act. It will take place rain or shine, although no rain is forecast for tonight.
