Elon Musk takes the stand in trial over Tesla tweets
Tesla Inc. Chief Executive Elon Musk took the witness stand late Friday in a federal trial in San Francisco over alleged investor losses caused by his “funding secured” tweet back in 2018.
Tesla shares TSLA, +4.91% edged lower in the extended session Friday after ending the regular trading day up 4.9%. “I care a great deal about retail investors,” Musk said. “They are our most loyal steadfast investors.” Twitter, which Musk bought in October, is the most “democratic” way to communicate, Musk said in court.
