This writer’s attempt to post on Twitter’s desktop site results in an error: “You are over the daily limit for sending Tweets.” The iPhone app shows a similar error, according to an SFGATE staffer, saying that “we weren’t able to send your Tweet” and prompting an endless loop of attempting to resend the tweet. Retweets look to be unavailable, but likes still appear to show up.
Direct messages also appear to be fully inaccessible on the desktop app. On the iPhone app, messages already sent and received are visible, but new messages cannot be sent, based on two SFGATE staffers’ experiences.He has yet to address this outage.Twitter’s late-December outage, when the website was down for around two hours for still-unknown reasons.
