The man behind SpaceX, Tesla and The Boring Co. wants to transform Bastrop County in Texas Hill Country into a hub for his growing empire.
Elon Musk is adding new amenities to retail center Hyerloop Plaza in Bastrop County , where the tech mogul is laying the foundation for his own Texas empire. Bastrop County is home to Musk's underground transportation venture, The Boring Co. , and his satellite internet company, Starlink , and court filings revealed in September that social media site X, formerly Twitter, will join them.
Howard Peak, former San Antonio mayor who laid groundwork for city's greenway trail network, has died The Central Texas county, about 30 miles outside Austin, has subsequently welcomed many of Musk's employees, some of whom live in a community of modular homes called Snailbrook. Hyperloop Plaza opened in November 2023 as a gathering place and retail center for those employees and other Bastrop County residents, with a bodega, pub and salon.
