Elon – Tesla’s chief executive – said he expected the shareholders to back the package. He is already on $207.9bn , and wants to add $56bn to that. “The incredible size of the biggest compensation plan ever – an unfathomable sum – seems to have been calibrated to help Musk achieve what he believed would make ‘a good future for humanity’,” she wrote in her 201-page opinion.What is Elon Musk’s compensation package?The all-or-nothing deal gave him the right to buy up to 304 million shares in Tesla, provided that he met a dozen jaw-dropping milestones over 10 years.
But an investor named Richard Tornetta sued Mr Musk and several Tesla directors that year, claiming his pay package was unfair.
