The Colonials picked up a home-opener win
Weston Elms threw a trio of touchdown passes to lead Morristown to a 36-7 win over Paterson Eastside, in Morristown.
Elms’ longest scoring strike was an 80-yarder to Jasiah Brown in the third quarter. Elms gave the Colonials its first points of the season off an eight-yard touchdown pass to Jahziel Torres. Elms also tossed a 65-yard scoring strike to Jeremiah Moreau in the second quarter. Reed Donegan scored off a 19-yard scamper in the third quarter and Kenneth Sharperson iced the game with a 50-yard rushing score in the fourth.The Ghosts responded quickly to Morristown’s first touchdown, as David Gonzalez tossed a 42-yard touchdown pass early in the second quarter, but the Colonials went on to score 28 unanswered points.
