Though his single 'Calling You' has been played more than 4.5 million times on Spotify, Morgan Ellison said football has always remained his true passion.
Between workouts in Miami as he waited for his next opportunity at professional football, Morgan Ellison sometimes committed his free time to writing music. Ellison had long found that scrawling his feelings and setting them to a beat was “almost like my therapy” — a place to express vulnerability outside of the cutthroat world of athletics. His 2019 track “ Calling You ” vaulted his hobby to a different level, totaling more than 4.5 million plays on Spotify .
” San Antonio offensive coordinator AJ Smith and coach Wade Phillips said Ellison was a seamless fit, arriving with a firm grasp of the system and terminology after running the same scheme during his 2023 stint with the XFL’s Seattle Sea Dragons. Smith said Ellison was brought aboard to break through arm tackles as defenses use lighter personnel groups to match up with San Antonio’s spread attack, and Phillips said the Brahmas “expect big things” from Ellison moving forward.
