The Oscar nominee chats with Vanity Fair about nearly getting arrested with Michelle Pfeiffer, a divisive romantic storyline from the book that could play out next season, and her next project.

” Margo’s big reveal isn’t about what lies between her legs—the camera doesn’t show any skin—but acts as an important step in the character’s journey of sexual discovery.
“When I turn, and the light just goes over my eye right as I wink, that was the money shot for us,” Fanning says. Fanning previously wore a prosthetic vagina for her character’s birth scene.
“I love that we have that in the first episode, because it’s opening a door to the audience, like,But she didn’t want to veer away from the show’s nudity, particularly as it pertained to new motherhood. “I’m not a prude person—I wanted to go there,” Fanning says.
“Because yes, there’s the OnlyFans aspect, but there’s the utilitarian aspect of, ‘I have to feed my child, and I’m having a conversation, but I have to multitask and do this at the same time. ’ So I’m like, I don’t want to shy away from it and shoot above the waist. We have to show this. There were definitely prosthetics with milk squirting out, which was funny.
” The actor recently received an email from the series’ lactation consultant praising the show’s onscreen depiction of breastfeeding.
“I’m most proud of that, I have to say,” Fanning says. “That was the part that I wanted to get right the most. Not being a mother myself, I wanted to make sure that it felt authentic. There were a lot of mothers on set that I would be asking, ‘How does this feel?
’ Normally, they’d say, ‘The pain feels worse than what you think, so go more. ’”has been renewed for a second season, what does she envision for her character’s future on OnlyFans?
“I have thoughts. I think other people have thoughts too,” Fanning says with a coy smile.
“It’s limitless with Margo. ” Then her eyes light up.
“One girl, she does sexy Lois fromAlso on the table for season two is a scrapped storyline from the book in which Margo falls for one of her customers, then later considers reimbursing him in an effort to “prove” her feelings. Author Thorpethat her talks with real-life OnlyFans creators led her to remove that plot from scripts for the series.
“We were toying with it and wanted it to fit into the first season, but there’s so much story in just eight episodes,” Fanning explains, though she says she isn’t ruling the narrative out entirely. “I love that storyline of Margo finding love. That can be explored later,” she says.
“It was just too much to cram in for the first season. ”follows two sisters in Nazi-occupied France—and marks Fanning’s first time starring in a project alongside her sister. (The last time the two shared the screen, Fanning was just two years old, appearing as a younger version of Dakota’s character, Lucy, in the 2001 dramawill hit theaters on February 12, 2027.
“Dakota’s in the other room! ” Fanning exclaims when asked how the shoot is going.
