So much drama already.

In the new trailer, Lee Flynn rings in the reopening of the notorious kissing booth at the school carnival, and Elle Evans catches everyone up on what they missed since the first film dropped in 2018. “As soon as school ended, Noah and I spent the whole summer together, and then exactly 27 days ago, my heart flew off to Harvard,” she says in a voiceover. "And here I am, first day of senior year …. sometimes I hate high school.

Though Elle and Noah are apart this year, he's clearly at the top of Elle's mind while the two tackle the trials of long-distance relationships. The popular mean girls at school tell her that “with different zip codes, breakups are basically automatic.” And so Elle is left to analyze Noah's social media feeds and his new friendship with a college classmate , and she questions whether he's “just out with the guys.” At one point, Noah pleads with Elle to trust him.

But Noah isn't the only one with a potentially tempting new love interest: Enter Marco , who Elle refers to as a “snack” before realizing he's standingbehind her. Lee wants her to pick Marco for the kissing booth because “everyone's obsessed with him," though Elle still seems unsure. Nonetheless, the two grow closer, as Marco asks, “Do you think you and Noah were meant to be together?” To which she answers, “I always thought we were.

Meanwhile, college decisions loom large. “Lee and I have dreamed of going to Berkeley, ever since we found out that's where our moms became besties,” Elle says. Noah, however, is encouraging her to think closer to him — she ends up also applying to Harvard, Tufts, and Boston College. And Lee isn't so thrilled when he finds the Harvard brochures in the back of the car. “Ask yourself if it's worth changing all of your plans for him,” a character asks Elle.
