Ella Jones made history on Tuesday by becoming the first black mayor of Ferguson, Mo. When asked what her historic victory means to her, she responded: 'That means I got work to do.'

She beat out fellow councilwoman Heather Robinett by a mere 138 votes to succeed term-limited Mayor James Knowles III, the station added.

"Because when you're the first African American woman, they require more of you than they require of my counterparts," Jones said, adding she's ready to work together with others to help to stabilize the community.
