We chat with ResidentEvilNetflix star ellabalinska about playing adult Jade Wesker, shooting the terrifying series, and dealing with dual timelines:
Ella Balinska stars as Jade Wesker in Netflix's Resident Evil show, but she's not the only one playing this new franchise character. The new entry in the iconic horror franchise takes place across two timelines: one pre- and one post-apocalypse. Balinska plays the adult version of Jade Wesker, one of the twin daughters of Albert Wesker.
Screen Rant sat down with Balinska to talk all things Resident Evil, including the scariest sequence to film, what she hopes to see for Jade in Resident Evil season 2, and how she played off her young counterpart .Screen Rant: Adult Jade just gets put through the wringer in this show. How much training and prep was involved for Jade's trek across the dystopic wasteland?
Ella Balinksa: There's actually only been one time in my career where I've called a timeout on set, and it was shooting this. It was during the Brotherhood sequence. The art department, the costume hair, makeup, special effects, visual effects, the supporting artists playing the zeros. It was so unbelievably immersive. I was like,"Guys, I need to go outside and look at the clouds for a minute. Just remind myself that I'm not trapped in this horror story.
We're left on a pretty major cliffhanger with Jade in both respects, but it still feels like adult Jade has so much to learn. So where do you hope her journey takes her in season two?
