Four new alebrijes added to the Alebrijes exhibit at the Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin. Osito Emilia , El Kokoro , Tochtli and Gigi have joined the 20 colorful alebrijes already on display, a news release said. The exhibit will be at the main library through Jan. 7. “Alebrijes” stem from Mexican folklore, embodying characteristics from a variety of animals to create fantastical creatures.

Tickets for the virtual viewing can be purchased for $10. The buyer is sent a private link to view the video, which is good for a month from the date of purchase. The Kane County Health Department is conducting an online survey to identify the health care needs of the community’s residents and organizations. The survey is available online in English and Spanish at www.kanehealth.com/Pages/CHA2023.aspx.
