Voters in two out of every three counties with an upcoming school board or superintendent race will see an entirely uncontested education ballot.
Alabama voters will see a educators, parents and other hopefuls running for school board on ballots on Nov. 5, but many will be running without an opponent.
Across the state, 36 of about 150 open school board spots and just three of 24 local superintendent races are contested. Some counties also are considering amendments that may affect voting patterns or education funding in the future. Providing our students an education has always been top priority. Unfortunately due to the times we currently live in, keeping our students safe has also become top priority."Cantrell is a lifelong Marshall County resident and a graduate of the DAR School. Ogle said he believes students should be held accountable for their behavior and academics, and that educational standards should be raised across the system.
