A fire broke out in the 300 block of Juniata Boulevard in Mifflin County on Sunday morning, destroying eleven rowhomes. Residents, including Dale Barnes, who experienced minor damage, woke each other up, alerting them to the blaze. This is the second fire to occur on this block in recent years. The Juniata Terrace community showed a strong sense of unity, with locals donating supplies and the Lewistown Alliance Church offering shelter and aid to displaced families.

Neighbors woke up neighbors, alerting each other to the fire that broke out around 6:30 a.m. in the 300 block of Juniata Boulevard. "I got very lucky," he said. "A lot of my neighbors are of course devastated because they lost everything.”Barnes said he woke up Sunday morning to his next-door neighbor banging on his door, trying to get him out.
"We're like one big happy family up here. We make bicker, we may complain, but when the chips are down, we’re together," Barnes said, standing out the Lewistown Alliance Church Sunday as he waited to speak with Red Cross, who was assisting families.
