The Klaus Teuber design has become one of the most significant eurogame designs in the board game industry. The Kickstarter offers resin and metal pieces as well that offer different finishes to make every CATAN set unique. Backers can mix and match their selections based on their budget and design aesthetic.The prototype pieces FanRoll sent impressed me with their sturdiness. The wooden hexes fatured bold colors that make their easily identifiable. They slotted into the board edge and assembled together with a satisfying feeling. I was also impressed on the detail on the ships that turn the harbors on the edge of the board into a 3d experience. The sails display the trades for each space. They are an excellent compliment to the building pieces. The CATAN Masterpiece Series is on Kickstarter through March 21st, 2025. The accessories are currently slated for a Q4 backer delivery with a general release in 2026.
