On Saturday morning, the Escalante Elementary School group shopped for supplies and clothing with a Salt Lake City officer. They also received backpacks filled with school items and a blanket by Project Linus. SLCPD’s pay-it-forward program allows students to shop with a cop for school supplies in August and holiday gifts in December. Officers often pay out-of-pocket to cover additional costs for these events.
