Daredevil's Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock and Élodie Yung as Elektra
Actress Élodie Yung played Marvel character Elektra in Netflix's Daredevil series, and now there's renewed speculation about her reprising the role on Daredevil: Born Again. In a recent Instagram post, Yung posted a series of workout photos with the caption,"New goals.
" The first image showed the actress' shadow as she lifted a dumbbell. She could also be seen sitting down on a mat on the ground, exercising. Another photo featured the words"No Pain, No Gain" on a white wall. Her social media followers took to the comments section to speculate about what this update meant for her career, with many assuming she was working out to get ready for an appearance in Daredevil: Born Again season 3, which recently began filming. It appears that almost every reply to Yung's Instagram post mentions Elektra, which caught the actress' attention. She added a new message to acknowledge the speculation, saying,"Ooooh You guys really want my Elektra back. I love it," with heart, fire and smiling face with horns emojis. While Yung didn't confirm or deny her involvement in Daredevil: Born Again season 3, the update caused even more excitement in the comments section. On her Instagram Stories, Yung also shared a photo of her view from an airplane window, though she didn't give any context or reveal if she was traveling for a work commitment. Over a decade after Jennifer Garner first played Elektra in 2003's Daredevil film, Yung followed in her footsteps for Neflix's adaptation of the character, and then returned the following year for The Defenders, the Avengers-like team-up series with Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist. After crossing paths years prior, Matt Murdock and Elektra re-entered each other's lives on Daredevil, and the two eventually worked together, despite the latter becoming an antagonist of sorts to the heroes. Yung's version of Elektra was last seen on The Defenders, but it was never made clear whether she survived an explosion that Murdock was able to walk away from. After Netflix canceled all of its Marvel shows, Disney+ revived Murdock via Daredevil: Born Again, which premiered in 2025. Various characters from the Netflix series have appeared in the revival, including Vincent D'Onofrio's Wilson Fisk, Deborah Ann Woll's Karen Page, and Elden Henson's Foggy Nelson. Daredevil: Born Again season 2, which premieres on March 24, will continue the wild and intense adventures of the fan-favorite superhero, with Krysten Ritter returning to the franchise as Jessica Jones. While Ritter's appearance was officially revealed last year, Yung's involvement in the revival has never been confirmed. Unverified rumors previously surfaced that Yung would be replaced as Elektra for Daredevil: Born Again, but no concrete details have ever been announced. 479 9.0/10 9/10 Daredevil: Born Again 10 stars 9 stars 8 stars 7 stars 6 stars 5 stars 4 stars 3 stars 2 stars 1 star Like Follow Followed TV-MA Drama Crime Action Sci-Fi Adventure Superhero Release Date March 4, 2025 Network Disney+ Showrunner Dario Scardapane Directors Aaron Moorhead, Justin Benson, David Boyd, Jeffrey Nachmanoff Writers Jesse Wigutow, Jill Blankenship, Thomas Wong, David Feige, Grainne Godfree Cast See All Blind lawyer Matt Murdock uses his heightened abilities to pursue justice in New York as the superhero vigilante Daredevil.
