Electric scooter rider dragged under SUV after collision in Vista [Breaking]
A woman riding a scooter sustained major injuries when she was struck then dragged by an SUV in Vista Thursday evening, a sheriff’s official said.
The collision happened just before 8 p.m. on South Melrose Drive near Live Oak Road, Sgt. Eric Contrell said in a news release. The woman was riding along Melrose when she crossed the entrance to a bank parking lot at the same a driver in an Mitsubishi Outlander was exiting the lot, he said.The SUV ran over the woman, dragging her a short distance, and leaving her trapped underneath it. Vista firefighters arrived and freed her, and she was taken to a hospital.The sergeant said neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be a factor in the collision.
