While former president Donald Trump is in Washington on Thursday, he’ll meet with a group of high-profile corporate CEOs known as the Business Roundtable. Trump, who is also meeting with congressional Republicans on Capitol Hill on Thursday, will speak with the group at its June CEO Quarterly Meeting. President Biden, who is in Italy for the Group of Seven summit, is sending White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients to appear in his place, according to a statement from the Business Roundtable.
During Trump’s meeting with the association of more than 200 CEOs, he is expected to make the case for why the economy would be better if he were to be elected. Biden campaign spokesperson James Singer used Trump’s upcoming meeting to tout Biden’s efforts to shore up the economy and take a jab at the former president. “Donald Trump couldn’t run a lemonade stand, let alone our country.
