While voting appears to be going smoothly in most Pennsylvania counties, voters in Luzerne County will have extra time to vote this year after a reported paper ballot shortage resulted in a court-ordered extension.

Polls normally close at 8 p.m., but the extension is until 10 p.m.Allegheny County officials have announced more than 130,000 mail-in ballots have been scanned. Last week, county received 142,000 mail-in ballots, they anticipate receiving between 150,000 to 160,000 total.
York County officials announced last month that they planned to hand count ballots cast at three random precincts and that is drawing fire from a voting rights group. All Voting is Local Pennsylvania’s State Director Nick Pressley issued a statement on Tuesday accusing the county officials or caving “to conspiracy theorist rhetoric” that “has the potential to put countless votes in jeopardy.” Pressley said it is “meant to sow distrust into our elections.
