In New Jersey, Democratic incumbent Phil Murphy holds a small lead over Republican challenger Jack Ciattarelli, a business owner and former member of the New Jersey legislature.
The Virginia Department of Elections held a press briefing Tuesday morning to give an update on today's election. Piper clarified that any election results reported Tuesday are"unofficial" numbers. The official results will come when the state elections board meets to certify the election results on November 15.
