President Biden’s reelection campaign is launching a new ad that criticizes former president Donald Trump over his comments in their recent debate about the overturning of Roe v. Wade. The 30-second spot shows Trump saying he appointed three “great” Supreme Court justices who later helped overturn Roe and calling it a “great thing” that the issue is up to the states again. “Ask yourself, who do you want in the White House: the man proud to overturn Roe v.
The race has been consumed by a separate aspect of the debate — Biden’s halting performance — which has touched off alarm inside the Democratic Party over his chances of beating Trump. The commercial is part of a previously announced $50 million ad buy throughout July across battleground states. The campaign said the ad is running on connected TV — streaming services such as Roku — in all battleground states.
