Rep. Mike Quigley on Friday became the latest sitting lawmaker to call on President Biden to quit the presidential race. Quigley, who represents a solidly Democratic seat, said in an interview on MSNBC on Friday that Biden’s “legacy is set.” He added: “The only thing that you can do now to cement that for all time and prevent utter catastrophe is to step down and let someone else do this.
” Quigley’s comments on Friday are an escalation of remarks he made earlier this week to CNN when he said it was a decision that Biden is “going to have to make.” In that earlier interview, Quigley dismissed Biden’s explanation of his June 27 debate performance. “It wasn’t just a horrible night,” Quigley told CNN.
