Brenda Venables was reported missing from the home she shared with her husband David Venables in May 1982.
David Venables was then arrested in relation to her death, according to the, as the West Mercia Police launched an"unexplained death" investigation and searched the bungalow where the couple lived at the time of Brenda Venables' disappearance.
In a statement confirming the charge, Mark Paul, the head of the Complex Casework Unit at the Crown Prosecution Service , confirmed that the"alleged offences occurred between May 2 1982 and May 5 1982."Teen Stabs Father to Death, Posts Footage on Social Media: Police However, Paul made it clear that"the function of the CPS is not to decide whether a person is guilty of a criminal offence, but to make fair, independent and objective assessments about whether criminal charges are appropriate.
The department confirmed in a press release that the arrest was made possible due to recent advancements in"DNA and genetic genealogy analysis."
