Holly is 150 in dog years
A family dog, aged 21, was abandoned by its owner for being 'too old'. Holly, who is a Labrador mix, has been taken in by a rescue centre after being surrendered to a dog warden as unwanted.
"The dog warden received a call to collect Holly and take her away with the owner asking for her to be put to sleep. She was given a reference number 288 by the council and the dog warden was excellent and understood this old girl still had a good bit of life about her. So they contacted us to see if we could help.
Speaking to Belfast Live, Helen continued: "We reached out for help for this special girl and the team at Almost Home in Moira contacted us and offered her a home in their elderly care unit, Heather House. One of our volunteers put Holly in the car immediately and drove to Moira and handed Holly over to the team there.
