Published: Sep. 12, 2024 at 7:06 PM EDTCLEVELAND, Ohio - Back in August, tornados tore through Northeast Ohio, bringing down trees and many limbs onto houses.

One of those homes belongs to 89-year-old Beverly Pendelton, who has lived in her Iroquois Avenue residence for nearly 55 years. She said she has called everybody she can think of to get help with removing it. “No one has gave me anything to help me, Center for aging, the city of Cleveland, the Crisis Center. I’ve called 311, 211 and no one has help me,” Pendelton said.It wasn’t until the 19 Troubleshooter got involved Thursday that she received word that efforts are underway to remove the tree as soon as the paperwork is completed.

John Laird, the assistant manager of the Cleveland Department of Public Works, gave the 19 Troubleshooter his word that the issue will be resolved. “Is she stuck with this thing on her house? No, absolutely not. That’s why I say there’s program that we have and I actually can help here. I have her application here. There is a program that we can help her to get this tree taken care of. I don’t know how long it’s going to take, but its in the works.”Copyright 2024 WOIO. All rights reserved.
