AKRON, Ohio - An elderly victim was scammed out of $22,600, Akron police confirmed, and detectives need help catching the suspect.

Police said the suspect contacted the elderly victim through his computer about a potential computer issue on Mar. 1. The suspect - or suspects - were then able to get the victim to put $8,0000 into a Bitcoin machine, police stated. Another suspect police called a money mule then picked up $14,600 in cash from the victim, according to APD.If you recognize the suspect or have any other information on this theft, call Akron Police Detective R.
