This affects multiple book characters.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT Summary The small-screen debut of Elayne Trakand in The Wheel of Time season 2 holds major implications for six more book characters. Played by Ceara Covenay, Elayne made her long-awaited first appearance in The Wheel of Time season 2, episode 2, titled “Strangers and Friends.” Like her book counterpart in The Great Hunt, Elayne entered Nynaeve al’Meara and Egwene al’Vere’s story by becoming a novice at the White Tower.
Gawyn returned in The Great Hunt to visit Elayne at the White Tower, which is where he first encountered Egwene. Similar to what the show did with Elayne, The Wheel of Time could introduce Gawyn in this manner, which could lay the groundwork for their romance. However, it would still differ considerably from how he was first presented to readers in The Eye of the World.
Galad Damodred Shortly after meeting Elayne and Gawyn, Rand had his first-ever encounter with Galad Damodred, a character who eventually turned out to be his half-brother. Characterized by his righteous attitude and black-and-white moral code, Galad immediately made a bad impression by reporting Rand’s accidental intrusion into the palace to the guards, simply because he felt it was the right thing to do.
