Kota Kinabalu: Seramai 2,490 guru Kelas al-Quran dan Fardu Ain (Kafa) dan 1,605 imam rawatib di Sabah menerima kenaikan RM100 bagi bayaran elaun bermula bulan ini, antara lain bertujuan meringankan kos sara hidup semakin meningkat.
Ketua Menteri, Hajiji Noor, menerusi jawapan secara bertulis dalam persidangan Dewan Undangan Negeri Sabah kepada Adun dilantik Aliakbar Gulasan berkata bayaran elaun itu akan dibuat menerusi Majlis Ugama Islam Sabah .Katanya, kerajaan negeri juga sedang menimbang untuk menambah elaun tersebut. Ketika ini guru Kafa dan imam rawatib di Sabah menerima bayaran elaun bulanan masing-masing RM1,100 dan RM850, yang dibayar berdasarkan jumlah jam bekerja dan tidak tertakluk dengan gaji minimum.
