The Costa Mesa chain is marking the 50 year anniversary of its founding in Sinaloa, Mexico.
El Pollo Loco has grown to about 500 restaurants in seven states. El Pollo Loco has announced it will be treating its rewards members with “exclusive deals and surprises every Friday” throughout 2025.
The occasion is the fast food chain’s 50th anniversary. It was founded by Juan Francisco “Pancho” Ochoa, who began selling fire-grilled chicken in Guasave, a city in Sinaloa, Mexico, in 1975. He opened El Pollo Loco in the U.S. five years later The first location was on Alvarado Street in Los Angeles.Friday drops will be available for one week, according to a news release.
